By the 1970s, it was clear that it was not only peers and baronets who were interested in their genealogy. Debrett’s created a new division, with a mission to provide a high-quality research service for anyone with British ancestry who wanted to discover their family tree. The response was overwhelming, and the division eventually became a separate company, Debrett Ancestry Research Ltd.
Since then, Debrett Ancestry Research has researched more than 7,600 families from all walks of life and from all over the world. Debrett Ancestry Research maintains close links with the parent company and in 2019 three of its staff edited the last printed edition of Debrett’s Peerage and Baronetage.
What we do
We research family history for clients with British ancestors, creating meticulous reports and family trees that can be handed down to the next generation. Our projects range from a simple limited search to a full-scale family biography.
BUT ISN’T IT ALL ONLINE?
The Internet has created an expanding universe of records and research tools for the genealogist. But there are omissions and pitfalls.
The data is sometimes difficult and time-consuming to navigate. For those who don’t have the time or inclination to do it themselves, we offer expert help and years of experience.
