Debrett’s Peerage and Baronetage is no longer published in traditional form. You can subscribe to our online database here: www.debretts.com/membership
The database has all the data from the last edition with the added benefit that it has been regularly updated and significantly expanded since then and continues to be updated daily.
Back copies of Debrett’s can often be found for sale on one of the many online booksellers or local antiquarian or charity bookshops.

TITLES AND STYLES
Do you record Lordships or Feudal Titles?
We record the genealogies of hereditary peers, baronets and life peers of the United Kingdom. We do not record lordships of the manor or non-British titles; the only exception would be if such titles were held by a current entrant.
Scottish Feudal Baronies can be found here: https://debretts.com/directories/other-titles-2/the-feudal-baronies-of-scotland/
Clan Chiefs and Chieftains can be found here: https://debretts.com/directories/other-titles-2/clan-chieftains/
Do you have a list of fake titles?
We do and we are currently working on putting together a comprehensive list, which will be added to our website when it is ready.
Who can use the style HRH and who can use Prince/Princess?
The rules on who can be styled HRH or who is entitled to be a Prince or Princess are very strict and further information can be found here: https://debretts.com/who-can-be-a-prince-or-princess/
How do I claim a title?
If you are the legitimate heir to a UK peerage, please see here: https://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/peers-roll-proof
If you are the legitimate heir to a UK baronetcy, please see here: https://www.baronetage.org/baronets/succession-to-a-baronetcy/
Is it Marquis or Marquess?
Technically, both are correct, but Marquess is the form in use in the United Kingdom. For more information see this article: https://debretts.com/etiquette/titles/4th-level-etiquette-test/
I have a title but the passport office doesn’t believe me, can you help?
Yes. Please email peerage@debretts.co.uk giving full details about yourself.
I have inherited a European title, can I use this in the UK?
Since 1932, British subjects can no longer apply for royal permission to use European titles in the UK. You may call yourself by your title, but you cannot update official records to record your title. Please see this article for more information: https://debretts.com/directories/other-titles-2/foreign-titles/
Looks like you haven't made a choice yet.
